In the rolling hills of southern Indiana, I spotted these two donkeys frolicking in this gorgeous meadow.   I swear that one of them smiled for the camera.

 

Dare I say this?  They make looking like an ass awfully cute!

This little home was discovered in a rose bush.  Mother bird built the nest in the spring when the bush was sparse.  Sadly, as the bush filled out she was not able to get to her baby through the thorns.  She did not, however, abandon the nest without considerable effort on her part.  Mothers are like that.

The fall colors are brilliant this autumn.  In South Carolina, there is just the hint of crispness to the air.

What does this all mean?  To me it means it is time for pumpkin pie.  I even have a real pumpkin that I will be making into a pie.  Well hopefully, I have never done this before.
