'Princess Zelda'

Original Oil
5" x 7"

Once feral Zelda, resides in a lovely South Carolina forever home.  She has her very own screened porch where she's known to supervise geckos, ducks, and even baby deer.
The only flaw in this perfect life-her very bossy brother cat, Link!
I really enjoyed painting all the fluffy texture in her cozy bed.

'Mommy and Me'
Original Oil
5" x 7"

Have you ever thought you could just 'whip up' a painting for a surprise gift?
Apparently, there's no whipping up for me.
It seems at the last minute, I drown myself in details.
 I know, I know.
But, I have to say, I stand by my added-at-the-last-minute-this-
little-cow-family-needs-a-house barn!

'Square Spot'
Original Oil
5" x 7"

Let's play 'Have You Ever'.  Have you ever painted a spotted dog?  YES and what fun, especially this soulful little fellow clutching his very own puppy.  For even more of a hoot, I added all-over squares.
I have been off on some adventures.  Recently, I have come home to painting.

The Starter
5" x 7"
Oil On Panel

"If you could say it in words, there would be no reason to paint."

Edward Hopper

Sometimes a photograph or words just aren't enough.  Your first home is just special.
This little house has been replaced by something much larger and now its owners wanted it remembered in paint.
I so enjoyed painting this cozy little place and its trees.
Why do we always think bigger will be better?

'The Girls'

Oil On Canvas
11" x 14"

Robert Henri said, "paint the flying spirit of the bird rather than its feathers."
Prior to painting these young ladies, I had met two of them some years ago only for a brief moment; the third not at all. However, by the end of the painting, I  felt as if I knew them.  It was as if I could feel their personalities through my brush.
Speaking of the feathers on a bird, I have discovered that I really enjoy painting fabric patterns.
