Big George

8"x12"
oil on canvas

SOLD

Good neighbors can be hard to come by.  George is my neighbor-has been for nearly fifteen years.  He never makes a pest of himself.  He just comes by every now and then for a friendly hello.  He peers patiently into the sidelights by the front door waiting for me to notice him.  When I come to greet him on the front porch, he showers me with kitty cat love.  When it is time to move on, he ambles off back to his own house. This is George's style.  He showed up at his present home much the same way.  He knew a good thing when it happened to him and stayed on.  I felt honored to paint him.

This chicken is safe from harm's way. He lives on a living history museum farm in Missouri.  He has developed quite the attitude toward any paparazzi!

I came upon this oil farm house while driving through the hills of southern Indiana.  I liked the way it was about to fall right over the hill it was sitting on.  The rooster perched on the fence post is ready for the day to start for everyone!

On Guard

SOLD

Oil On Museum Quality Panel

6" x 6"

I adore fluffy cats. This is the fourth painting in my series animals and the furniture they own.  This sweet calico does not let the fact that she's a bit plus-sized keep her from parking on her antique foyer table.  She is posted to watch the comings and goings.  Sometimes a little nap interferes with her guard duties.

It's been a very long day for this old guy.  Chasing the cat, barking at the door bell, begging for treats, and so forth.  Now, for a well-deserved rest and some doggy dreaming.

I am a furniture devotee-especially chairs and sofas.  And I love animals.  I am intrigued with the soulful faces of dogs.  Isn't it amusing how animals take possession of a piece of furniture?  Their body language screams, "don't even think about moving me!"
